It seems almost too good to be true that we actually have the mortal remains of the famous pharaohs and queens who ruled Egypt during the New Kingdom over 3000 years ago – but do we? This talk explains the context of the discovery of the royal mummies before exploring the various methods by which we establish or verify their identity. The identity of many seems reasonably secure, but there are other cases where severe doubts exist.  P SI
